countering the confusion of consumer packaged goods

rate of sale

How quickly a product is selling in a particular store. The typical way that this is expressed is “units per store per week”.

You might think about rate of sale on a brand level (so all of the products a particular brand sells in a particular store each week) or on an individual product level (so all of the units of a particular SKU that a brand sells in a given store each week).

All things being equal, a higher rate of sale is better. If a brand doesn’t achieve a high rate of sale when it first wins a listing, it’s likely to be de-listed.
