transactional email
-
A transactional email is one sent to a user as part of their interaction with a website or service. Examples might include order confirmations, password reset emails, delivery notifications, promotional result emails, etc.; anything that notifies the consumer or confirms something with them.
Generally it’s not necessary to obtain someone’s consent – an “opt-in” – before sending them a transactional email, provided you have some other basis for sending the email.
